A truly stunning bowl designed by Ivan Weiss and produced by Royal Copenhagen, Denmark. The bowl is marked 11/22564 and features the Royal Copenhagen hallmark used from 1975 to 1979. Ivan Weiss's monogram is engraved on the bottom, as shown in the photos. A magnificent design object to enrich your interior.
Weiss (born in 1946) is a renowned Danish ceramicist. At sixteen, he began training as an overglaze painter at the Royal Copenhagen Porcelain Manufactory under artistic director Nils Thorsson. During the 1970s, he studied ceramics in Hagi, Japan, mastering traditional techniques. Back in Denmark, he continued his work at Royal Copenhagen until 2004. Since then, he has worked as a freelancer and guest lecturer.
The bowl is in very good condition, with minimal signs of use, appropriate for its age.
